Valentine's day tends to be depressing - putting stress and expectations on couples while making single folks lonely. Superficial greeting cards and sweets make this more of a commercial frenzy than a celebration of love.
Lets reclaim this cheesy red and pink holiday with all the colors of the rainbow - by doing what we love.
That could be painting, drawing, dancing, singing, playing music, making a collage, sculpting, sketching, taking photos, writing poetry, you name it. This is a celebration of the arts, of beauty and creation, and the undying love we all share.
Bring your art supplies, your sketch-pads, cameras, paints, face-paints, chalk, etc. To downtown Pacific ave. or El Cerrito Plaza on Valentine's day, and make something wonderful.
Completely free for all! D.I.Y. All ages! Come make some friends and reclaim this commercial holiday by expressing love your own way. Anything goes!
***If you can, bring extra materials to share with people you meet (ex: paper and crayons.)***
